Robby the Robot is one the most beloved movie Robots to ever grace the silver screen.Robby first appeared in the 1956 Sci-fi movie “Forbidden Planet”.

Both Robby’s high tech character and the other special effects of Forbidden Planet were way ahead of their time. In fact, Forbidden was more than likely the inspiration for the 1960s Star Trek TV series.

Over the last couple of weeks, Robby suddenly appeared at Wal-Mart as a walking and talking toy. The Robby figure is over a foot tall and he comes in a awesome well decorated box which is a collector’s item unto itself.
